Mickoski: Butel police officers get new station after 30 years

Skopje, 14 December 2025 (MIA) - At the opening of the renovated Butel police station Sunday, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski expressed his gratitude to the police officers for their patience during decades of service in the old, substandard building.

“The mayor and the Interior Minister mentioned all the important matters, namely where the police officers have worked for more than 30 years, what will happen to the old barracks, where the park and the cultural multifunctional center will be built, and everything else that needs to be done, which adds value here in Butel. All technical details were generally explained; I just want to thank the police officers for their patience over the past decades. Some started their careers there and retired under those conditions. These are conditions that in no way reflect the standards of a proper police station building,” Mickoski said.

It requires, he added, a lot of patience to endure all of that and to carry out the daily tasks.

“I also want to extend my gratitude, of course, to the Minister, the Minister of Social Policy, Demography and Youth, the Deputy Minister, and the Butel municipality mayor for accomplishing all of this together, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Social Policy, Demography and Youth, and Butel municipality. The government, throughout this process, naturally acted as an inseparable part and will continue to support such projects. I hope that there will be fewer such open positions in the country that need to be addressed on a daily basis,” he said.
