Skopje, 24 November 2024 (MIA) - SDSM holds Sunday its 30th congress in which new members of the party’s top bodies, the Central and Supervisory Board, will be elected as well as new SDSM vice president.
Addressing delegates, SDSM leader Venko Filipche said today’s congress will be a turning point for SDSM.
SDSM, he said, was focused on the EU integration process more than on services for the citizens, was servile to its former coalition partners, and as a result, lost the May elections.
Anyone who has done any wrongdoing, Filipche noted, should be held accountable for crime and corruption, everyone, including government officials, should be brought to justice.
“Arrogance will be buried deep down as long as I am president,” Filipche pledged, stressing that SDSM is especially proud of Radmila Shekerinska being the first Balkan lady taking the post of deputy NATO chief.
According to him, the VMRO-DPMNE government has installed a new regime creating artificial crises and threatening with imagined crises. “The government is playing the division card,” said Filipche.
The congress is attended by 536 delegates out of 626. Officials of other opposition parties are also in attendance.
