Skopje, 17 January 2026 (MIA) — The Public Revenue Office is fully cooperating with prosecutors on their investigation against 11 of the PRO's empoyees suspected of tax fraud, the PRO said in a press release Saturday.

According to the release, the PRO does not tolerate "any illegal conduct, abuse or corruption."

"These phenomena are unacceptable and completely contrary to this institution's professional and ethical principles. At the same time, the PRO believes that during all proceedings the principle of presumption of innocence must be consistently respected," the release said.

In the meantime, while the probe is under way, the PRO has made sure the work process has continued to run unimpeded, it said.

"The PRO continues to cooperate with all competent authorities to establish responsibility where it belongs, but also to preserve the institution and its employees' reputations, trust and integrity," the release said. mr/
