Strumica, 17 July 2024 (MIA) — The mayor of Novo Selo, firefighters and civilians who were trapped in the Ograzhden mountain fire have been evacuated by a Slovenian helicopter, MIA's Strumica correspondent reports.

The Strumica firefighters shared the news through a social media video that showed them heading toward the helicopter.

The firefighters, together with Novo Selo Mayor Gjorgje Bozhinov and locals, were surrounded by the burning blazes above the village of Badilen in a radius of 500 meters. mr/
