Skopje, 20 December 2024 (MIA) — The Macedonian Radio Television will hold a contest in 2025 for filmmakers interested in working on the recently announced documentary, feature film, and TV series on Toshe Proeski, which should be completed over the next two years, Minister of Culture and Tourism Zoran Ljutkov told a news conference Friday.
Minister Ljutkov said the film projects would be financed through the Ministry of Digital Transformation from the national budget.
"The project will be led by the Macedonian Radio and Television, with many more co-producers involved in the project," Ljutkov said.
"I hope that almost all national televisions from the Balkans will be co-producers, because there is really a lot of interest," he added.
Asked when shooting would start, Ljutkov said it depended on the outcome of the contest.
He added that talks were ongoing with the national broadcaster also about the possibility of launching a music talent show named after Proeski.
The talent show would be "at a slightly higher level – but we are still talking about it," Ljutkov said. mr/
