Skopje, 24 December 2024 (MIA) - The wages of all employees in the country will rise in 2025, but the wages of officials won’t, said Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski on Tuesday in answer to a journalist’s question.

“We will fight for all employees in the country to get higher wages, we will work for that, but the officials won’t have that right. This is what we said, and it is also what we are doing. We are amending the legislation to ensure there are no increases in the wages of officials. The lawmakers in Parliament will soon vote on these amendments,” Mickoski said.

The PM described the amendments freezing the wages of officials as “the right step”.

“I believe this is the right step, even though there is an ongoing debate. We will continue to work in the interest of the citizens and all those who voted for us and trust us as a Government,” Mickoski stressed.
