Skopje, 12 December 2024 (MIA) — Rated 4.16 out of 5, Macedonian cuisine is the 47th best in the world, according to the traditional food guide TasteAtlas, which published its ranking of the 100 best national cuisines for 2024/25.

According to the food guide, the must-try Macedonian foods are zelnik (rated 4.5), makalo (4.5), sarma (4.4), ajvar (4.4), and Ohrid trout (4.4).

The top 10 national cuisines in 2024/25, according to TasteAtlas, are Greek, (rated 4.6 out of 5), Italian, Mexican, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish, Indonesian, French, Japanese, and Chinese.

Founded by Croatian journalist and entrepreneur Matija Babic, the gastronomic platform has more than 10,000 dishes, featuring authentic recipes and food reviews. mr/
