Finance Minister Dimitrieska-Kochoska meets OPEC Fund for International Development Vice President Al-Sheiby
- The promotion of cooperation with OPEC through the Fund for International Development and assistance for projects in the country were discussed at a meeting Wednesday between Minister of Finance Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska and the Vice President of the Fund, Shaimaa Al-Sheiby, at the OPEC headquarters in Vienna.
Skopje, 15 January 2025 (MIA) - The promotion of cooperation with OPEC through the Fund for International Development and assistance for projects in the country were discussed at a meeting Wednesday between Minister of Finance Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska and the Vice President of the Fund, Shaimaa Al-Sheiby, at the OPEC headquarters in Vienna.
According to the Ministry of Finance, at the meeting Dimitrieska-Kochoska highlighted the Government’s efforts to realize investments in both the public and private sector in order to accelerate economic activity and achieve higher rates of economic growth. She touched upon projects that are being developed, as well as projects that offer opportunities for cooperation. Above all, investments in infrastructure projects and projects in energy, healthcare, and others, said the Ministry.
Both parties voiced their commitments to strengthened cooperation in the coming period, and the opportunity to finance development projects through the partnership.
The OPEC Fund for International Development is a multilateral development financial institution that finances projects aimed at stimulating economic growth and social progress in developing countries. The Fund has invested more than US$ 27 billion in development projects in over 15 countries so far, the Ministry said.
