Bozhinovska-Ludva: Initiatives for joint session of ministers from both countries, direct Skopje-Prague flights

Skopje, 14 January 2025 (MIA) - Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources Sanja Bozhinovska met Tuesday with Czech Ambassador Jaroslav Ludva.
According to the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources, in addition to discussing opportunities for greater cooperation in the field of energy, the Minister and Ambassador also agreed concrete activities for the realization of two initiatives for joint sessions of ministers from both countries, with the goal of improving bilateral relations. They also discussed the introduction of a direct flight between Skopje and Prague.
“Minister Bozhinovska and Ambassador Ludva will strive to ensure the signing of memoranda on cooperation in several areas during the session, as well as assessing concrete activities for the enhancement of economic and energy relations. Additionally, they proposed that the delegation includes representatives of the Macedonian business community with the goal of establishing partnerships with Czech businesses,” the Ministry said in a press release.
At the meeting, Bozhinovska highlighted the importance of a direct connection between the two countries and said she is glad the Ambassador voiced support for her initiative for a direct flight between Skopje and Prague.
“I am especially glad that the Czech Ambassador in Macedonia, Mr. Ludva, supported my initiative for a direct flight between Skopje and Prague. Through joint commitments we managed to push this idea to the path to realization, and in the coming months a regular air route will be established, and it will contribute to the facilitation of cooperation in trade, business and cultural exchange. With this, we are laying new foundations for partnerships and investments,” Bozhinovska said.
Bozhinovska and Ludva also stated that the possibility of introducing a seasonal Prague – Ohrid route is also being explored.
“The meeting,” said the Ministry, “represents a significant step forward in building firm bilateral relations and establishing new perspectives for cooperation between Czechia and Macedonia, which is in the interest of the citizens and economies of both countries”.
