St. Clement of Ohrid awards presented at a ceremony in Parliament

Skopje, 8 December 2024 (MIA) – At an awards ceremony in Parliament, the 2024 St. Clement of Ohrid national awards for outstanding achievement in education, culture, arts, healthcare and environmental protection were awarded on Sunday to university professor Maja Bojadzhievska, writer Milovan Stefanovski, artist Miroslav Masin and actor Refet Abazi.  

Macedonian writer Tomislav Osmanli, St. Clement of Ohrid national award board president, handed the awards to this year's recipients.

In his address on the significance of St. Clement of Ohrid and his work, he said that he was an educator who united religious and secular values ​​that endure to this day.

"The people of culture, art, education, whose work we honour today with this highest state award, are the best guarantors of the common progress in and of our country and culture," said Osmanli.

UKIM professor, Maja Bojdzhievska, expressed gratitude on behalf of the laureates, calling for equal appreciation of women's contributions and achievements in these fields.

She dedicated the award to all the "invisible women predecessors", noting that she was the only woman among a total of eight recipients of this year's "St. Clement of Ohrid" and "October 11" awards.
