October consumer price index down by 0.7%, retail price index down by 0.1%: statistics

Skopje, 7 November 2024 (MIA) - Inflation measured through the Consumer Price Index in October 2024, compared to September 2024 dropped by 0.7%, while the Retail Price Index dropped by 0.1%, said the State Statistical Office on Thursday.
According to the State Statistical Office, the Consumer Price Index in October 2024, compared to October 2023, increased by 3.5%, while the Retail Price Index increased by
3.9%.
A decrease in inflation in October 2024, compared to September 2024, is the result of the decrease in the Consumer Price Index in the following groups: Food and non-alcoholic beverages by 2.2%, Restaurants and hotels by 1.5%, Recreation and culture by 0.9%.
In October 2024, compared to September 2024, an increase in the Consumer Price Index was registered in the following groups: Alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics by 3.4%, Clothing and footwear by 1.4%, Transport by 0.7%, Health by 0.3%, Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, Miscellaneous goods and services by 0.2%, Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance and Communications by 0.1%.
The Consumer Price Index in the group Education remained at the same level as in the previous month.
