Skopje, 27 March 2026 (MIA) - Macedonia is a credible NATO ally and the country has shown it can stand alongside allies when called upon, said Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski on Friday.

Quizzed by reporters on the sixth anniversary since Macedonia joined NATO despite paying a hefty price for that, PM Mickoski said the country is still pushed into paying a price in order to integrate into international organizations.

"Macedonia is a credible ally and we have shown this on many occasions in the past and we will continue to demonstrate it. The country has shown that when called upon, it is ready to stand alongside our NATO allies, thus making us safer and more stable. Unfortunately, we paid a hefty price as no other country and nation did before, and regretfully, we are still pushed into paying a price in order to integrate into international organizations," said Mickoski.

We may be small in numbers, the PM added, but we are extremely significant for this part of Europe and the globe as well.
