Mizo: No drastic reduction in foreign investors’ orders for now, risks remain

Skopje, 27 March 2026 (MIA) - There has been no drastic reduction in the orders of foreign investors for now as a result of the events in the Middle East but they do point that the price of fuel is not the only problem, there are also risks from various aspects that could be reflected such as a shortage in fuel, kerosene, aluminum, said the head of the Foreign Investors Council Viktor Mizo on Friday.

“We still haven’t had a visible direct reduction, even though there are small fluctuations in orders sometimes on a weekly level. There still hasn’t been a drastic reduction because there is uncertainty and everyone is waiting to see what will happen. The situation is fluid, but I cannot say if and how much it will impact our clients,” Mizo said.

Mizo noted that the crisis affects everyone, and companies must seize the moment and find opportunities to be more competitive than other businesses.

“This is a global issue. It doesn’t matter if we are located in Macedonia or if our competitor is located in any other country, the increased expenses for energy resources, petrochemical materials or raw materials will be reflected in the same way. This means industry will be affected globally and the potential reduction of demand will be reflected in all areas, and then maybe we can look for a way to create opportunities to be more competitive than our sister companies in Europe and make sure the reduction in Macedonia is lower than in some other alternative location,” Mizo said.
