Skopje, 30 September 2024 (MIA) - Industrial production in period January-August dropped by 3.6 percent, said the State Statistical Office on Monday. Industrial production in August, compared to the same month in 2023, decreased by 1.6 percent.

Industrial production in section Mining and quarrying decreased by 18.4%, in section Manufacturing it increased by 1.3%, while in section Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply it decreased by 4.6%. The increase in section Manufacturing is mostly due to the increased production in the divisions Manufacture of tobacco products, Manufacture of textiles, Printing and reproduction of recorded media, Manufacture of chemicals and chemical products, Manufacture of electrical equipment, Manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c., Manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, Manufacture of furniture and Repair and installation of machinery and equipment.

Industrial production by Main Industrial Groupings was higher in Capital goods by 28.7% and Durable consumer goods by 34.0%, while lower in Energy by 8.7%, Intermediate goods, except energy by 14.6% and Non-durable consumer goods by 5.0%.
