Germany striker Füllkrug joins AC Milan on loan from West Ham

Berlin, 3 January 2026 (dpa/MIA) - Germany forward Niclas Füllkrug has joined AC Milan from West Ham United, both clubs confirmed on Friday.
Milan and West Ham said that Füllkrug, 32, was signed on loan for the rest of the season by the Rossoneri who also have an option to make the deal permanent.
The statements came after Serie A had listed Füllkrug in their transfer list.
Nine-time European champions Milan are second in Serie A, one point behind crosstown rivals Inter, who they can pass later Friday when they visit Cagliari. Italian reports said that Füllkrug would already be part of the match squad.
Füllkrug joined West Ham in 2024 from Borussia Dortmund for €30 million (35.2 million).
But he never made a real breakthrough at the Hammers and had several injury setbacks. He played 29 matches in all, scoring three goals.
Füllkrug will hope for more playing time at Milan in a bid to return into the Germany squad for this year's World Cup. He has 24 caps and 14 goals, with his last match in June.
