Brussels, 20 December 2024 (MIA) - The European Commission condemned Friday the Russian missile attack on Kiev that damaged a building which houses six diplomatic missions, including North Macedonia’s Embassy in Ukraine.
“This [attack] shows once more the criminal nature of [Russian President Vladimir] Putin who is a danger to Ukraine, to the EU, to all of our security,” said the European Commission’s Spokesperson on Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Anitta Hipper, at a press briefing Friday.
Asked whether the EC intends to issue a formal protest to the Russian Federation since the damaged building houses several diplomatic missions including from EU member states, Hipper briefly said the Commission would “assess the situation and follow through”, according to MIA’s Brussels correspondent.
Earlier on Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of North Macedonia said no diplomatic staff were injured in the strike that damaged the Macedonian Embassy.
“The relevant services have carried out an initial assessment of the damage on the ground, and repair work is already underway,” the Ministry said in a statement
