EBRD and ESM to sign grant agreement for Bitola 1 and Oslomej 2 photovoltaic power plants
- The Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources announced that under its auspices, a grant agreement is to be signed Wednesday between the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Power Plants of North Macedonia (ESM) for the construction of the two photovoltaic power plants Bitola 1 and Oslomej 2.
Skopje, 18 December 2024 (MIA) – The Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources announced that under its auspices, a grant agreement is to be signed Wednesday between the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Power Plants of North Macedonia (ESM) for the construction of the two photovoltaic power plants Bitola 1 and Oslomej 2.
The event will feature addresses from the Minister of Energy, Mining, and Mineral Resources, Sanja Bozhinovska, the EU Ambassador, Mihail Rokas, EBRD representative Fatih Türkmenoğlu, the Minister of Finance, Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska, the ESM General Director, Lazo Uzunchev and the Head of the Sector for coordination of EU funds and other foreign assistance at the Ministry of European Affairs, Evgenija Kirkovska.
The grant, valued at nearly five million euros and provided by the EBRD, marks the start of two important projects that will support the country’s energy transition.
