Skopje, 17 December 2025 (MIA) — Macedonian artist Rafael Ristovski's "Urbanature" exhibition of digitally altered Parisian street photos will open at the French Institute in Skopje at 6 pm.

According to organizers, Ristovski took the photos during his stay at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris as an artist in residence there with support from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The photo exhibition features photos of cityscapes "that have been transformed through digital editing into symbolic and metaphorical worlds, highlighting the so-called 'urban nature' – streets, architecture and details that often go unnoticed," organizers said.

The art show was curated by Melody Robine, who focused on showing how the Parisian experience had influenced the Macedonian artist's "works in dialogue between local and international aesthetics." 

"His stay in Paris brought new energy to his work, inspired by the city's contrasts, the combination of old and modern architecture, as well as everyday, seemingly ordinary moments that gain new meaning through artistic interpretation," organizers said.

Jana Lulovska, who was an artist in residence at the Cité internationale des arts in 2023, will moderate the event.

The Cité internationale des arts is an artist-in-residence building complex that accommodates artists of all nationalities in Paris. mr/
