Filipche: Instead of implementing reforms, Mickoski offers anti-EU campaign

Skopje, 21 February 2026 (MIA) - SDSM leader Venko Filipche says that instead of implementing reforms that Europe has required for two years, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski offers isolation and anti-EU campain.
"Over 70 percent of citizens want EU accession, and the PM talks about 'bullying' and 'first and second league'. It is not bullying but a consequence of not meeting the obligations: justice, media freedom, fight against corruption," says Filipche.
According to him, VMRO-DPMNE is creating conflicts with neighbors on a daily basis, while responding to criticism coming from Brussels with attacks.
"Europe is giving us a clear opportunity by 2027, together with the region. Montenegro and Albania are making progress. What about us? We can do this only if we stop the policy of isolation pushed by Mickoski," says Filipche.
