SEC rejects European Front appeal regarding Larce polling station

Skopje, 27 May 2024 (MIA) - The State Election Commission (SEC) Monday afternoon rejected the appeal from the European Front regarding the revote in polling station 2101 in the village of Larce in the Municipality of Zhelino.
Candidates have the right to appeal this decision to the Administrative Court, which must decide within 48 hours of receiving the appeal.

After the revote at this polling station on May 22, the DUI coalition lost one parliamentary seat to the “Worth It” coalition. DUI complained about irregularities in voting, determining, and summarizing the results, claiming that the number of ballots did not correspond to the number of voters who turned out to vote.

After examining all the electoral material, SEC President Aleksandar Dashtevski stated that an entirely identical situation to that in the minutes has been confirmed and proposed rejecting the objection as unfounded.

In overturning DUI's objection, there were 6 votes against, with only the vice-chair of the State Election Commission, Dritmir Shehu, voting in favor.

The European Front lost one seat in Parliament after the revote in the 2101 polling station, while the "Worth It" coalition won one seat. For the May 22 revote at seven polling stations in the fifth and sixth election districts, there were no other complaints submitted to the State Election Commission (SEC).
