Parliament passes law on financial inspection in public sector

Skopje, 24 January 2023 (MIA) – Lawmakers as part of Tuesday’s session adopted the law on financial inspection in the public sector with 54 votes in favor and the law on amendments to the law on border control with 55 votes in favor.  

The purpose of the law on financial inspection in the public sector is to protect the financial interests of public sector entities against major financial mismanagement, fraud and corruption.  

At today’s session, the Parliament decided to adopt in a fast-tracked procedure the draft law on amending the law on return of part of the value added tax to natural persons and the draft law on youth allowance.  

Earlier at Tuesday’s session, Parliament verified the mandate of new SDSM MP Daniela Stojanovska-Panovska, who is set to replace MP Zeqir Ramcilovic who has been appointed Ambassador to Montenegro.  

Speaker Xhaferi said that due to non-attendance of members of the Government, the session has been adjourned and will resume at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
