Skopje, 22 November 2024 (MIA) - On Albanian Alphabet Day, we reaffirm our joint commitment to respecting and promoting ethnic and cultural diversity, which represents an invaluable asset of North Macedonia, SDSM leader Venko Filipche said in a message congratulating Albanian Alphabet Day.

He mentioned the historical significance of the day, noting that on this day in 1908, the Congress that created the standardized Albanian alphabet was concluded in Bitola, which is considered one of the most significant moments in the history of the Albanian people and the common history.

"Language is not only a means of communication, but also a fundamental pillar of the identity, culture and rights of every people. Respect for diversity, including linguistic diversity, is a key condition for building a stable, progressive and democratic society. May we build bridges of understanding and cooperation, where every language and culture will have their place and contribute to common prosperity," Filipche said.
