North Macedonia, Bulgaria hold joint police exercise in Sofia
Skopje, 1 July 2022 (MIA) - Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski and Public Security Bureau Director Sasho Tasevski held Friday bilateral talks with Bulgarian Interior Minister Boiko Rashkov in Sofia. It is in our interest to produce good results and benefit from mutual cooperation, which is equally important not only for the countries' interior ministries but also for our two countries and the region," Spasovski said as cited by the Interior Ministry in a press release. He underlined North Macedonia's Interior Ministry's commitment to improving and enhancing bilateral and operational cooperation with the Bulgarian Interior Ministry, mainly in curbing organized crime, human trafficking, illicit drug trafficking, migrant smuggling and tackling illegal migration. Bulgarian Minister Rashkov said relations between Bulgaria and North Macedonia as regards home affairs and security are excellent. "The Republic of Bulgaria is prepared to develop and strengthen bilateral cooperation and share experiences as EU member state. Minister Rashkov said he was convinced cooperation in all areas will be more active and more effective," said the press release.
