Belgrade, 22 November 2024 (MIA) - Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić met Friday with Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, discussing ways to strengthen bilateral relations and joint initiatives, MIA reports from Belgrade.

"We discussed economic and infrastructure projects, with a focus on the construction of the Budapest-Belgrade-Skopje-Athens railway that would link up Central and South Europe, as well as improvement of the trade exchange and cooperation in the energy sector," President Vučić says in an Instagram post.

Vučić and Mickoski agreed that solidarity and mutual support are crucial for the stability and development of the entire region.

"I am especially thankful for the fact that North Macedonia is one of the key partners in the Open Balkan initiative, which has become a symbol of strong regional cooperation and networking in the Western Balkans. Our common goal is a better future for all citizens, whereas cooperation through Open Balkan and other projects remains a solid foundation upon which we build the region's future. I am certain we will continue to develop relations in the spirit of friendship and partnership," notes Vučić.

PM Mickoski, who is paying a two-day visit to Serbia on occasion of the third international fair for wine, food, brandy and tourism "Wine Vision by Open Balkan", is also set to meet with Serbian counterpart Miloš Vučević.
