President Siljanovska Davkova congratulates incoming NATO Deputy Secretary General Shekerinska

Skopje, 22 November 2024 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova met Friday with Radmila Shekerinska and congratulated her election to the post of NATO Deputy Secretary General.

Siljanovska Davkova and Shekerinska agreed that the important post is not only a personal but also a national recognition, a proof that unity and consensus among highest office holders is the key to success and the country's promotion, the President's Office said in a press release.

The President voiced assurance that the incoming Deputy Secretary General would significantly contribute to the realization of the Alliance's key objectives of enhancing collective security, strengthening solidarity among allies and countering contemporary threats, whereas Shekerinska's election clearly shows the importance the Alliance attaches to the region.

Earlier in the week, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced his decision to appoint Shekerinska as his deputy.
