COVID-19: 542 new cases, 298 patients recover, 7 die
Skopje, 31 December 2021 (MIA) – North Macedonia registered 542 new COVID-19 infections after 5,990 tests were conducted in labs across the country in the past 24 hours. In the same period, 7 deaths and 298 recoveries were reported, the Ministry of Health said on Friday. Of the new cases, 280 were registered in Skopje, followed by Bitola – 52, Ohrid – 32, Kavadarci – 31, Prilep – 28, Strumica – 20, Kumanovo – 13, Gevgelija – 11, Kichevo – 9, Shtip – 8, Resen – 8, Valandovo – 7, Veles – 6, Struga – 5, Negotino – 5, Tetovo – 4, Radovish – 4, Kochani – 3, Kriva Palanka – 2, Delchevo – 2, Demir Hisar – 2, Makedonski Brod – 2, Demir Kapija – 2, Gostivar – 1, Sveti Nikole – 1, Probishtip – 1, Kratovo – 1, Bogdanci – 1, Makedonska Kamenica – 1. Seven deaths were registered in the past 24 hours, including three in Skopje (aged 57, 64 and 81), two in Bitola (46 and 80), one in Ohrid (76) and one in Prilep (73). At the moment, 5,243 cases are active nationwide. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 1,597,512 tests, recording 225,049 COVID-19 cases and 211,846 recoveries. The death toll has reached 7,960.
