Skopje, 3 April 2026 (MIA) - The number of employees in industry in February 2026 decreased by 3.4% in comparison with February 2025, State Statistical Office data show. 

The number of employees in industry in the section Mining and quarrying in February 2026, in comparison with February 2025, decreased by 6.3%, in the section Manufacturing it decreased by 3.4%, and in the section Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply it decreased by 0.4%.

The number of employees in industry by Main Industrial Groupings in February 2026, in comparison with February 2025, was lower in Energy by 2.4%, Capital goods by 4.5%, Non-durable consumer goods by 4.1% and Intermediate goods, except energy by 3.0%, but higher in Durable consumer goods by 1.6%.

According to the State Statistical Office, the number of employees in industry in the period January - February 2026, in comparison with January - February 2025, decreased by 3.5%.
