- Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski told journalists he expects gasoline prices to drop by Mden 2, and diesel to rise by Mden 0.5 on Monday, noting that the measure to reduce the value-added tax (VAT) on fuel is producing the expected result.
Skopje, 28 March 2026 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski told journalists he expects gasoline prices to drop by Mden 2, and diesel to rise by Mden 0.5 on Monday, noting that the measure to reduce the value-added tax (VAT) on fuel is producing the expected result.
“We are monitoring the situation with the price of oil on the global markets very carefully. Based on our calculations we expect the prices of gasoline to drop by around Mden 2 on Monday, and the price of diesel to remain the same or go up by Mden 0.5. So the reduction of VAT directly implies a positive effect,” Mickoski told journalists on Saturday.
The Prime Minister said the Government would extend the measure for two more weeks if necessary, or move ahead with new measures regarding excise duties. In terms of fuel supplies, Mickoski said the situation is stable for now, and there is no need for restrictions.
