Siljanovska-Davkova calls for analysis of Law on Crisis Management once fires put out

Negotino, 18 July 2024 (MIA) - When the wildfires are extinguished, we should immediately sit down and instead of waiting for next summer to come, we should analyze the Law on Crisis Management, President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova told media Thursday after visiting members of the Army engaged in the efforts to douse the flames on Serta Mountain.

The President voiced her belief in the ability of the head of the Crisis Management Center (CMC), Stojanche Angelov, and his team, as well as in the readiness of the soldiers and firefighters.

“The President’s place as Commander-in-Chief is wherever there are members of the Army. I signed the decision [to deploy an additional 200 Army members] this morning, I believe in their ability since they’ve always been at the right place in difficult moments. The number is being increased, as well as the opportunities for engagement,” Siljanovska-Davkova said.

“I heard Stojanche and his warnings, I am calm knowing that the General behind me will take command of the soldiers. We know that these are highly educated pilots, not only skilled but also selfless and brave,” she added.

Earlier on Thursday, President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova decided to deploy additional 200 Army members to the fire extinguishing operations. The total number of Army members engaged in the efforts is now 300, who will carry out activities at sites designated by the Crisis Management Center, which is the coordinating authority of all institutions involved.
