Piano trio '30 Fingers' to give recital at Philharmonic

Skopje, 25 October 2023 (MIA) — The 30 Fingers piano trio, consisting of Vesna Angelova Hristov, Marija Vrshkova and Petar Makarievski, will give a recital at the Philharmonic Chamber Hall at 8 pm.

 

The piano trio will perform works by Jean Cras, Rasim Ramazanov, Steve Reich and Dionysis Boukouvalas as well as Macedonian composers Bete Ilin and Damjan Temkov.

 

Vesna Angelova Hristov earned her Bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Music Arts in Skopje in 1999 under Boris Romanov. In 2007, she received her Master’s degree in piano performance under Rita Kinka at the Academy of Arts, Novi Sad, Serbia. She has won several national competitions as well as prizes from piano competitions in Serbia and Germany.

 

Angelova Hristov has given numerous solo and chamber recitals and performed in Bulgaria, France, Turkey, the Czech Republic, and Serbia. She often performs with the Macedonian Philharmonic. Since 2000, she has taught piano at Ilija Nikolovski Luj State Music and Ballet Center.

 

Marija Vrshkova graduated piano performance at the Faculty of Music in Skopje under Todor Svetiev in 1997 with the highest honors, and earned her Master's degree in 2001 under the same mentor. She has won numerous prizes, including 3rd prize of the International Competition for Young Pianists in Rome, Italy. As a chamber musician, she has performed in Croatia, Albania, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Turkey, Germany, Poland, United Kingdom, Ukraine, Russia, and Italy.

 

Vrshkova has performed with many well-known musicians, including Stefan Milenkovic, Monika Leskovar, and Ino Mirkovic. She has performed at festivals such as Ohrid Summer Fest, Days of Macedonian Music, Heraclea Night, and the music competition Ohrid Pearls, where she won the best piano accompaniment prize from the international jury. She teaches at the Faculty of Music in Skopje.

 

Petar Makarievski earned his Bachelor's degree in piano performance at the Faculty of Music Arts in Skopje under Jasminka Chakar and his Master's degree at the State Music Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria, under Anton Dikov. In 2011, he was awarded a teaching assistant position at Georgia State University in Atlanta, USA. During his stay in Atlanta, Makarievski performed solo and chamber recitals, and organized concerts and festivals through the French Alliance and the Goethe Institute in Atlanta.

 

Makarievski has participated in masterclasses held by Cristopher O'Riley (USA); Alberto Urroz (Spain); and Nicholas Roth (USA). He has been a jury member and an official piano accompanist at several International competitions. He performs in various chamber formations and as a soloist with the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 2019, he has taught piano at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Skopje. mr/
