Trpcheski and Makedonissimo Quintet to perform in Delchevo
- After giving outdoor concerts in the Struga village of Zbazhdi, Skopje, Shtip, Bitola and the village of Sekirnik, Bosilovo, and Strumica, Macedonian pianist Simon Trpcheski and his quintet will perform another free concert featuring music from the album "Makedonissimo" (Linn Records, 2020) in Delchevo.
Skopje, 6 September 2024 (MIA) — After giving outdoor concerts in the Struga village of Zbazhdi, Skopje, Shtip, Bitola and the village of Sekirnik, Bosilovo, and Strumica, Macedonian pianist Simon Trpcheski and his quintet will perform another free concert featuring music from the album "Makedonissimo" (Linn Records, 2020) in Delchevo.
The album features Macedonian folk music arrangements by composer Pande Shahov, "intertwining different musical styles with our traditional music," according to Trpcheski.
The Makedonissimo Quintet includes Aleksandar Krapovski on violin, Aleksandar Somov on cello; Hidan Mamudov on clarinet, saxophone and kaval, and Vlatko Nushev on drums.
The concert will be held at Delchevo's City Park, beginning at 8 pm. It is organized by the Municipality of Delchevo in cooperation with KulturOp association in honor of the 80th anniversary of the city's liberation.
Admission is free.
Previously, Trpcheski gave three concerts with the Dusseldorf Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Alpesh Chaua, performing Sergei Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18. mr/
