Francophone Film Week begins

Skopje, 30 March 2026 (MIA) — This year's Francophone Film Week opens Monday evening at the Cinematheque with a screening of Lenny and Harpo Guit's "Heads or Fails" (2024). Admission to the screening is free.
French Ambassador Christophe Le Rigoleur and Sofia-based Belgian Ambassador Paul Lambert will speak at the opening.
Organized by the French Institute in Skopje and the French Embassy, Francophone Film Week will show the documentary "When Tomatoes Met Wagner” (2019) by Marianna Economou; the historical drama "Silent Rebellion" (2025) by Marie-Elsa Sgualdo; the immigrant drama "Souleymane's Story" (2024) by Boris Lojkine; the road-trip movie "Rodéo" (2022) by Joëlle Desjardins Paquette; the historic comedy drama "Tale from the Past" (1987) by Dhimiter Anagnosti; and the period drama "Queen Marie of Romania" (2019) by Alexis Cahill and Brigitte Drodtloff.
All films have Macedonian subtitles, with select films from non-French-speaking countries also featuring French subtitles. The series of screenings runs through April 4. mr/
