Ohrid, 21 April 2026 (MIA) — A solo exhibition by artist Mila Dobrevska titled "Inherited Attire" will open Thursday at the Robevci House in Ohrid.
According to the Ohrid National Institute and Museum, the exhibition explores the spirit of Macedonian women by placing traditional values in a modern context.
The artist presents traditional costumes as more than just garments, viewing them as a means of self-expression and a reflection of how people perceive themselves and their culture.
Organizers said the exhibition is also aimed at younger people, serving as a reminder of enduring values such as kindness, love and perseverance.
Dobrevska’s works connect the past with the present, offering new interpretations of traditional ornamentation and embroidery.
She uses hand-modeled cement, glass and modern weaving and painting techniques to transform traditional designs into contemporary art. mr/
