Skopje, 1 November 2022 (MIA) - The Happiest Man in the World, the sixth feature film by Macedonian director Teona Strugar Mitevska, scooped three awards at yesterday's closing ceremony of the Festival of Slovenian Film, held in Portorož, Slovenia. The film in the best co-production category won the Vesna award for best film. In the national category for best Slovenian film with an exception from the jury, The Happiest Man in the World won two awards, namely the Vesna award for best costume design, which went to Slovenian costume designed Monika Lorber, and the Vesna award for best makeup, presented to Mojca Gorogranc - Petrushevska. Usually, these two awards are handed out to Slovenian authors for Slovenian films rather than to minority co-production, however, they were awarded to Strugar Mitevska's newest feature under a jury's decision. The Happiest Man in the World had its Macedonian premiere in Skopje last week before its Zagreb premiere at the film festival.
