Tanec orchestra to give concert of archival MRT music

Skopje, 3 April 2024 (MIA) — The orchestra of the Tanec National Folk Song and Dance Ensemble will give a concert at the Philharmonic to mark the 80th anniversary of the Macedonian Radio Television, the 75th anniversary of Tanec, and the 70th birth anniversary of Macedonian composer Todor Trajchevski.
Conducted by Darko Ilievski, the concert is titled "From the MRT Archives" and will feature music written for the now defunct MRT national orchestra, which is "an inalienable part of the Macedonian heritage," a Tanec press release said.
The concert will be preceded by a conversation with Blagoja Deskovski, the last leader of the MRT national orchestra.
The concert program consists of music compositions and arrangements by important authors writing for the orchestra during various periods of its existence, the release said. mr/
