Skopje, 14 May 2023 (MIA) — To the tune of Strauss waltzes, Skopje's 22nd annual Viennese Ball was held Saturday at the Aleksandar Palace, with proceeds going to SOS Children's Village.
According to organizers, the Viennese Ball is an example of Macedonian-Austrian cultural cooperation and brings Old Vienna's "magic of music, dance and glamour in the service of humanity."
The ball was hosted by Vera Meshterovikj. Performers included Johann Strauss Orchestra conducted by Bisera Chadlovska, singers Dragan Bobikj Dekso and Kalina Velkovska, and dancers Sasha Eftimova, Balázs Lőcsei, Hristina Nakjevska and Miroslav Mitrashinovikj.
As part of the event, Elena Luka's haute couture show displayed ten women's formal gowns.
Formal evening wear was expected from attendees as the dress code was strictly black tie.
The Viennese Ball is organized by Johann Strauss Association for Cultural Cooperation with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Austria in Skopje. mr/
