Slavko Janevski Foundation to hold 2022 Novel of the Year award ceremony

Skopje, 29 May 2023 (MIA) — The 24th Novel of the Year award will be presented to Macedonian writer Vlada Uroshevikj at the Museum of Contemporary Art on May 30 for his book "The True Yet Not Very Plausible History of the Pustopolski Family About the House by the Vardar and About the Four Rings" (Ars Libris, 2022).

 

According to organizers, the award ceremony will include a jazz performance by Goce Stevkovski Septet.

 

The Novel of the Year contest is organized by Slavko Janevski Foundation and sponsored by Komercijalna banka. The winner gets a statuette, a plaque, and Mden 150,000.

 

Vlada Uroshevikj (b. 1934, Skopje) is a prominent Macedonian writer. He has written numerous books of poetry, short stories, novels, essays, travelogues, literary and art criticism as well as literary theory and translations.

 

Between 1999 and 2017, the Novel of the Year award was given by Utrinski vesnik. After the newspaper’s demise, Slavko Janevski Foundation took over the book contest. mr/
