Roman Simovic to perform with Profundis at Philharmonic

Skopje, 16 October 2023 (MIA) — Award-winning violinist Roman Simovic will perform with the chamber orchestra Profundis conducted by Gjurgjica Dashikj at the Philharmonic.
Profundis was formed four years ago. The chamber ensemble's members are some of the most prominent Macedonian musicians who are part of the country's two professional orchestras: the National Opera and Ballet and the Philharmonic.
Roman Simovic (b. 1981, Kyiv) is a renowned Montenegrin violinist. He was the London Symphony Orchestra concertmaster from 2010 to 2017. He has performed at Carnegie Hall, Mariinsky Hall in St. Petersburg, Grand Opera House in Tel-Aviv, Victoria Hall in Geneva, Barbican Hall in London, Art Center in Seoul, Rachmaninov Hall in Moscow, and many others.
As a soloist, Simovic has appeared with the world's leading orchestras. He holds a visiting professor of violin position at the Royal Academy of Music in London. He has given masterclasses in the US, UK, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland, Serbia, Montenegro, and Israel.
Simovic has also released many recordings, including four albums directing the London Symphony Orchestra's string section for the LSO live label as well as a CD of complete Paganini caprices for violin solo. mr/
