President Pendarovski presents Milica Stojanova, Milka Eftimova and Stojna Vangelovska with Order of Merit
Skopje, 25 March 2022 (MIA) – President Stevo Pendarovski, awarded Friday Milica Stojanova, Milka Eftimova and Stojna Vangelovska with the Order of Merit of the Republic of North Macedonia. He also awarded the Charter of the Republic of North Macedonia to the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, the International Cinematograp[hers Film Festival "Manaki Brothers" and the National Institution Turkish Theater. “In this global political-historical moment we live in, which is characterized by mistrust and mass re-examination of the most key benefits of civilization, which are unfortunately shaken as never before, nothing is more important than affirming examples of human excellence in culture, art, science, education and sports," said President Pendarovski. He added that the decorations, in addition to being a thank you to those who have been awarded for their achievements, also affirm the models of virtuous human behavior as signposts for future generations. “The decorations are a satisfaction for the commitment, for the hard work and the effects of it on the decorated ones. But they are also more than that. They are an argument that the wider community has reference points on the basis of which it can further build its development policies in all important social spheres. Apart from talking about the state priorities, the decorations also confirm that in the society there is a clearly marked path with criteria for evaluation within the human value systems,” the President emphasized. Pendarovski also pointed out that the cultural social memory belongs to the individual theoretical aesthetic and guild domain of evaluation, but it experiences the widest verification through the joint, collective recognition. “Today's winners of the Order of Merit of the Republic of North Macedonia, Milica Stojanova, Milka Eftimova and Stojna Vangelovska, as well as the institutions winning Charters of the Republic of North Macedonia - Faculty of Dramatic Arts and the International Cinematographers' Film Festival 'Manaki Brothers' and the National Institution Turkish Theater - are examples of the highest national values that have existed for decades as indisputable constants in the Macedonian state and society,” said Pendarovski. Actress Milica Stojanova expressed her gratitude for the award and pointed out that she receives it on her own behalf, as well as on behalf of her colleagues, but as she said, she also receives it on behalf of those who are no longer among us, who have contributed to the results of our Republic. Opera singer Milka Eftimova pointed out that the greatest credit for this award goes to the President, and thanked the Ministry of Culture. For Stojna Vangelovska, a champion basketball player, this award is a pleasure but also a motive for further activities. “It is an honor today to be surrounded by these brave and strong women. The road to success is difficult, it is full of challenges. It requires effort, investment, commitment, but above all great discipline and responsibility. As a basketball player, in my long career, I have won everything that can be won and I have achieved top results. Basketball has left its mark on my life, and I thank the Commission for awarding me the prize. I hope that in the future I will continue with my sports mission,” said Vangelovska. The Dean of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, Mimi Tanevska Srbinoska, pointed out that the Faculty of Dramatic Arts has its own story that it has been building for 53 years, producing vital energy and a strong creative impulse that are key to Macedonian culture and development of the Macedonian society. “Each new generation of the Faculty creates new values. It is the task of every student to bring new rules, new aesthetics and new energy, to find new meaning. Students are our greatest asset, they are our partner and creative force at the same time,” added the dean. The director of the International Cinematographers' Film Festival "Manaki Brothers", Simeon Damevski, at today's award ceremony expressed his thanks for the award and said that they will do everything to grow this festival so that we may all take pride in it. The director of the National Institution Turkish Theater, Nesrin Tair, said that she is proud and happy for this recognition, which, as she said, confirms everything that they work for as an institution, and the results they achieve. dk/ik/
