Philharmonic to give 'Homeland' concert

Skopje, 28 March 2024 (MIA) — The Philharmonic will perform Niccolò Paganini's Violin Concerto No. 1, Op. 6, as part of its "Homeland" concert featuring violinist Bojan Ilkoski as soloist. The orchestra, conducted by Sasho Tatarchevski, will also perform Robert Schumann's Symphony No. 4 in D minor, Op. 120.

 

Bojan Ilkoski (b. 1992, Skopje) has a degree in Violin from the Faculty of Music Arts in Skopje. He has won many awards, including at the International Mozartiana-M competition; State Music Competition; Ohrid Pearls; State Music Competition; Nedyalka Simeonova in Haskovo, Bulgaria; Sixth International Strings competition in Nish.

 

Ilkoski has given numerous solo concerts at home and abroad, including in Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania, and Bosnia. He is a member of the Chamber Orchestra of the Jeunesses Musicales Macedonia and performed at the Ohrid Summer, Bitola Summer, Interfest and Skopje Summer festivals. He is also a member of the Macedonian Philharmonic and the F.A.M.E.’s – Film and Music Recording Company orchestra.

 

Sasho Tatarchevski (b. 1972, Bitola) earned his master's degree in Choral, Symphonic and Opera Conducting at the Faculty of Music in Skopje. Over the years, he has conducted the Philharmonic, the Macedonian Opera and Ballet, the Bitola Chamber Orchestra, L'Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma, St.Petersburg's Hermitage Symphony Orchestra and many other choral, chamber and symphonic ensembles.

 

He has performed and won international prizes with various ensembles in Portugal, Slovenia, Belgium, Greece, Switzerland, Spain, the UK, Croatia, Italy, Serbia, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia, Austria, Bosnia and Hercegovina, France and Turkey.
