National Opera and Ballet to perform Tchaikovsky's 'Sleeping Beauty' on March 7, 8

Skopje, 5 March 2024 (MIA) — The National Opera and Ballet will perform Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's "Sleeping Beauty" ballet on Thursday and Friday evening.

 

"This classic ballet fairy tale has delighted world audiences for more than 100 years," a press release from the NOB said, noting the ballet's "intricate variations, brilliant performances and pure classical technique."

 

Conducted by Bisera Chadlovska, the ballet was choreographed by Viktor Iaremenko and Tetiana Beletska from Ukraine.

 

On March 7, the leading roles will be played by Marija Kichevska Shokarovska and Emil Yordanov from Bulgaria, accompanied by the National Opera and Ballet dancers and orchestra.

 

On March 8, the leading roles will be played by Hristina Nakjevska and Balázs Lőcsei from Hungary, accompanied by the National Opera and Ballet dancers and orchestra.

 

Jane Bakevski is the concertmaster. Kliment Todoroski will perform the violin solo and Kiril Josifov will perform the cello solo. The set and costumes were designed by Miodrag Tabachki. The lighting designer is Milcho Aleksandrov. mr/
