Macedonian language seminar organizers to launch book of Macedonian stories in Croatian translation

Ohrid, 29 August 2023 (MIA) — Organizers of the Ohrid summer school of Ss. Cyril and Methodius University’s 56th International Seminar on Macedonian Language, Literature and Culture will host a book launch for the Croatian translation of a collection of children's stories by contemporary Macedonian writers, "Detelinki belinki" (Ars Lamina 2022). The book was translated by students of the Macedonian Language Lectorate at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Rijeka, Croatia.

Initiated by Biljana Stojanovska, Macedonian language lecturer at Rijeka's Macedonian Language Lectorate, the book translation was published to mark its 15th anniversary, organizers said.

Stojanovska will be joined by Vesna Mojsova Chepishevska on stage. Also speaking about the translations will be undergraduates who translated the stories into Croatian: Ana Bratovic, Margareta Canzar, Anamarija Gojevic, Ivana Jovanovic, Lucia Togonal, Marija Kuncic, Natalija Milkovic, Nina Dojcinovic, Nina Medanic and Tihana Tadej.

As part of this year's Macedonian language summer school, organizers will also launch "Shopov in 11 Languages," a collection of translations of Macedonian poet Aco Shopov's selected works. mr/
