Skopje, 30 November 2023 (MIA) - Minister of Culture Bisera Kostadinovska-Stojchevska met Thursday with International Foundation Forum of Slavic Cultures (FSK) Director and President of the European Museum Forum, Andreja Rihter, to discuss the role, significance and activities of the Forum that aims to connect and represent the culture of Slavic nations across the globe.
According to Kostadinovska-Stojchevska, museum activity as one of the overall areas of action in our culture is important for the affirmation and promotion of culture and cultural heritage, educating citizens, especially young people, on cultural assets and peculiarities of Slavic people.
The Minister also visited the "Museums that matter - permanent museum exhibitions and work with visitors" workshop, co-organized with FSK, that was held at the Institute and Museum in Bitola, the Ministry of Culture said in a press release.
"The Ministry of Culture fully supports the organization of seminars and workshops where museum workers and experts will get to discuss various current topics in the field of museum studies, create a new profile of museum practice, appropriate to modern society. The exchange of experiences and good practices will facilitate the modernization of existing exhibitions, systematic planning of development activities, as well as networking between museum institutions at an international and regional level," said Kostadinovska-Stojchevska.
She noted that FSK's activities, including the workshop, serve as an incentive to enrich programs in museum institutions, contributing to the affirmation of the cultural heritage of Slavic countries.
North Macedonia, she added, will continue to actively participate in the Forum in the future, in order to implement as many projects as possible that will create high cultural values, using cultural similarity and diversity as the main development context. ssh/ik/
