Kosovo, Turkey films win prizes at 20th CineDays festival
Skopje, 22 July 2021 (MIA) – The 20th CineDays European Film Festival closed with awards being handed out to the best film screened at the festival’s jubilee edition.
A jury was set up to watch nine films vying for awards, including actor Slavko Sobin, producer Zeynep Atakan and Marisella Rossetti of the Directorate-General for Communication of the LUX Prize.
Blerta Basholli’s “Hive” (Kosovo) won the Golden Star award for best film in official selection, the jury has decided.
Golden Sun Award for best film in the SEE Programme went to “It’s all about peace and harmony” by Nesimi Yetik (Turkey).
Also, short Macedonian films will be screened Thursday evening at CineDay’s pop-up location in the City Park
The final part of the selection of the Echo Mountain Movie Festival, including “On Thin Ice“ by Henry M. Mix, and “Mountain, Priest, Son“ by John Seddon and Vaibhav Kaul, will be screened at Mount Vodno at 8:30 pm followed by a screening of Thomas Vinterberg’s award winning “Another Round”.
The programme is supported by UNICEF and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
