Kumanovo, 17 May 2024 (MIA) — The sixth Grafitti Fest will take place in Kumanovo over the next two days, with grafitti artists from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Turkey, Croatia, Slovenia, and Germany working on making the city more beautiful, organizers said.
The aim of the festival is to promote grafitti art as part of urban culture. "The variety of colors and contrasts will break up the city grays," according to organizers.
The festival will also feature performances by Macedonian DJs as well as promotional kiosks and entertainment for all generations, they added.
According to festival organizer Mladen Trendevski from Forma Kumanovo, individual styles of drawing were encouraged at the festival.
Also, he said, there was higher public awareness of the need to protect Kumanovo's existing murals, including those dedicated tof Blazhe Koneski and Goce Delchev.
"We are happy that citizens appreciate our work," Trendevski told MIA's Kumanovo correspondent.
This year's Grafitti Fest was sponsored by the local business community. mr/
