Skopje, 1 April 2024 (MIA) – The Italian police at a ceremony in Tuscany over the weekend presented director Goce Cvetanovski with the best film award for “The Business of Pleasure” at the International Police Arts Awards Festival - IPAAF. 

IPAAF, reads a press release, is a prestigious cultural manifestation in Italy, where the police for 27 years has been awarding artists working in films, music, art, literature, theater and TV. Previous laurates include Italian composer Ennio Morricone, American filmmaker Aber Ferrara, Russian director Nikita Mikhalkov, American actor Mat Dillon and British actor Colin Firt. 

The festival is annually held in October. However, because Cvetanovski was unable to attend the event then, he was presented with the award this past weekend in Monte San Savino, which included a bronze statuette – a replica of Chimera of Arezzo

“As I matured as a filmmaker, I’ve learned from the Italian masters of art, such as Fellini, Sergio Leone, Tornatore… I’m glad the award comes from the police, which has a noble task to protect the citizens. The film depicts many injustices, but we, the people, need to believe justice will prevail,” Cvetanovski told the ceremony. 

So far, “The Business of Pleasure” has won seven awards at festivals across the world. It is funded by the Film Agency.
