FM Osmani at SEECP meeting in Budva

Skopje, 5 June 2023 (MIA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani is taking part Monday at a meeting of foreign ministers of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) in Budva, Montenegro, less than a month before North Macedonia formally assumes the SEECP chair.

FM Osmani will hold a press conference after the plenary session, together with the representatives of the Troika of the SEECP, composed of the past, current and future chair – Greece, Montenegro and North Macedonia. Additionally, the Foreign Minister will hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from the members of the initiative on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.

The South-East European Cooperation Process was established in June 1996, with the goal of deepening the relations and cooperation between the countries of the region. The initiative aims to create a region founded on democracy and economic prosperity, and for a complete integration of this part of the continent within the European and Euro-Atlantic structures.

North Macedonia has been a member of the initiative from the very beginning, and it has chaired it twice in the past, in 2000-2001 and 2012-2013. Apart from North Macedonia, the member states also include Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Kosovo, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, Croatia and Montenegro.
