Skopje, 13 September 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski met Friday with State Secretary for Federal, European and International Affairs of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Mark Speich, exchanging opinions on current and future cooperation opportunities through the bilateral Declaration on Cooperation that the two governments signed in 2021.

FM Mucunski voiced satisfaction from the fact that our country holds frequent high-level meetings and maintains continued communication with Germany's biggest province, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said in a press release.

Mucunski and Speich agreed that the economic cooperation with this province has been excellent, having a significant share in the bilateral cooperation with Germany, which has led to the highest trade exchange on record.

State Secretary Speich expressed assurance that the cooperation would intensify both in political and economic terms, while reaffirming the province's support to the country's EU integration process.

Mucunski reaffirmed the readiness for more intensive cooperation with North Rhine-Westphalia, which includes a large Macedonian diaspora, and is a seat of many leading industrial and business capacities, reads the press release.
