Dimitrieska-Kochoska attends IMF/World Bank Spring Meetings

Skopje, 14 April 2026 (MIA) – Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska, is visiting Washington, D.C., USA from April 14 to 18 to take part in the 2026 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG).

While in Washington D.C., the Ministry of Finance said Dimitrieska-Kochoska will meet with high-level officials from the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, hold meetings at the U.S. Treasury and meet with representatives of several international financial institutions and investors.

“Dimitrieska-Kochoska is scheduled to hold meetings with IMF Deputy Managing Director Bo Li, Executive Director Jeroen Clicq, Deputy Executive Director Marnix van Rij, Director of the European Department at the IMF Alfred Kammer, Mission Chief for North Macedonia in the IMF Nick Gigineishvili and representatives of the IMF’s Fiscal Affairs Department. The talks are expected to confirm the Government’s commitment to fiscal consolidation alongside efforts to ensure economic growth as well as discuss the crisis’s impact on public finances and the economy,” the Ministry of Finance said in a press release.

Dimitrieska-Kochoska will also meet with WB Vice President of the Europe and Central Asia region, Antonella Bassani, and WB Group Executive Director representing the Dutch Constituency, Eugene Rhuggenaath. Discussions at the meeting with the World Bank will focus on the implementation of the Country Partnership Framework, highlighting opportunities to utilize it in driving forward priority development projects for the country.

Additionally, the Minister of Finance will meet with representatives from the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Technical Assistance, engaged in implementing project activities in the field of public finances, aimed at boosting institutional efficiency, optimizing resource management, minimizing risks and providing better protection for the citizens.

During her stay in Washington D.C., she will hold meetings with international financial institutions as well.

Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska, takes part in the IMF/WB Spring Meetings alongside the Governor of the National Bank, Trajko Slaveski, accompanied by a delegation from both the National Bank and the Ministry of Finance. The delegation is also joined by the Ministry of Finance State Secretary, Andriana Matlioska.

IMF/WB Spring Meetings, traditionally held every April, bring together Finance Ministers, Central Bank Governors, business community representatives, NGO representatives and experts to address urgent global economic matters, the challenges facing the world and the opportunities for overcoming them.
