Skopje, 4 June 2022 (MIA) — With the support of USAID, the US Agency for International Development, North Macedonia is building a prosperous future based on trust and partnership in strengthening the country's democratic capacity, said Culture Minister Bisera Kostadinovska Stojchevska following her meeting with Erin McKee, USAID Assistant Administrator for Europe and Eurasia, held after the Strategic Dialogue with North Macedonia in Washington, DC.
According to the Ministry of Culture in a press release, Kostadinovska Stojchevska and McKee discussed results achieved so far in "accelerating the growth and development of the private sector, greater inclusion of informed citizens, and cohesion in society.”
"The US Government, through USAID, provides financial support for strengthening the democratic processes and institutions in North Macedonia through strategic goal agreements, development cooperation or partnership grants," the release says.
“The meeting focused on the need to boost efforts in the further implementation of USAID assistance agreements, especially in supporting young people,” the release adds, highlighting the need of better economic opportunities for young people.
Meeting participants also pointed out the need to encourage young people's creativity and participation in society as well as to involve them in cultural policies.
“We remain focused on effectively achieving the development projections set in cooperation with USAID so North Macedonia can continue building its democratic capacities and strengthening its development in its European integration process”, the release notes. mr/
